Most engagements work best with organisations between 10 and 80 people, usually founder-led or in a clear transition. If you are a solo operator or a large enterprise, the fit is probably not right and Janet will say so in the first call. Nonprofits, product companies, and service businesses have all been good fits historically.
It is 30 minutes, no preparation required on your end. Janet will ask about the situation, what you have already tried, and what a good outcome looks like. At the end she will tell you honestly whether she thinks there is a fit and, if so, what engagement type makes sense. There is no sales pressure and no follow-up pitch if you decide not to proceed.
Every engagement is fixed-fee, scoped in writing before work begins. A 50% deposit is due at signing; the remainder is due at delivery of the final document. There are no hourly overages. If scope needs to change materially, that conversation happens before any additional work is done.
You can reschedule the start date once without penalty, provided you give at least five business days' notice. Cancellations after signing forfeit the deposit. If Janet needs to cancel or postpone for any reason on her end, the deposit is refunded in full.
For a diagnostic, expect two to three hours of interview time per key stakeholder over the four-week period, plus one working session at the end to review findings. For a strategy sprint, leadership should expect roughly four to five hours of structured participation across six weeks. The work is designed to fit around your team's existing schedule.
All engagements run remotely by default. Video calls, shared documents, and asynchronous email cover the full process. In-person working sessions are available for clients within the Portland metro area for an additional travel fee, and occasionally for clients elsewhere when the engagement scope warrants it.
