What quarterly advisory actually covers week to week

Quarterly Advisory is the format that is hardest to describe in a service listing, because the value is cumulative rather than delivered in a single document. This is an attempt to describe what it actually looks like across a quarter.

The four calls ¶

Each quarter includes four calls, roughly one every three weeks. The first call of a new quarter is a review: what was planned, what happened, and what changed. The remaining three calls are working sessions structured around whatever is most pressing at the time.

The calls run 50 minutes. Janet sends written notes within 24 hours of each session. The notes are not a transcript. They are a structured summary of what was decided, what was deferred, and what needs to happen before the next call.

Asynchronous access between calls ¶

Between calls, clients have email access for questions that cannot wait. The expectation is a response within two business days. This is not a hotline. It is a channel for the kind of question that comes up mid-week when a decision needs to be made and a second perspective would help.

Most clients use this channel two or three times per quarter. Some use it more during busy periods. The access is included in the quarterly fee with no additional charge.

Who it works best for ¶

Quarterly Advisory works best for organisations that have already done a diagnostic or sprint and are now in execution. The value is in having a consistent external reference point across a period of change, not in generating new analysis.

It is not the right format for an organisation that is still trying to define the problem. For that, the Operational Diagnostic is the better starting point.

Most clients who move from a Sprint into Quarterly Advisory do so because the execution phase turned out to be more complicated than the planning phase suggested. That is normal, and it is exactly what the format is designed for.
